Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information Notezify collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Notezify, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you choose. If you sign up using a third-party provider (such as Google or GitHub), we receive the email address associated with that provider.
b) Notes and Content
We store the notes, tags, checklists, and other content you create within the Service. This data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
c) Usage Data
We collect limited, anonymous usage information to help us improve the Service, such as which features are used most often and general app performance metrics. This data does not include the content of your notes.
d) Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment card details and billing address. Notezify does not store or have access to your full payment card number. We receive only a transaction ID and the last four digits of your card for reference.
e) Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but some features may not function properly.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To sync your notes across your devices.
- To process your AI requests (rewrites, summaries, smart search).
- To send you account-related notifications (e.g., password reset, billing receipts).
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or the content of your notes to anyone, ever.
3. AI and Your Data
When you use an AI feature (rewrite, summarize, or semantic search), the relevant note content is sent to our AI provider. We have agreements in place that prohibit the AI provider from using your content to train their models or for any purpose other than fulfilling your specific request. Your content is not retained by the AI provider after processing.
Semantic search indexes your notes locally on our servers so you can find them by meaning. This index is not shared with third parties.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With your consent. When you use the sharing feature to share a note via a public link or with specific email addresses, the shared note becomes visible to those recipients.
- Service providers. We engage trusted third-party providers for hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and AI. They access only the data needed to perform their function and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and notes for as long as your account is active. If you delete a note, it moves to the Trash and is permanently deleted after 30 days. If you delete your account, we permanently delete all your data within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain for legal or legitimate business purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@notezify.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children’s Privacy
Notezify is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our servers or service providers are located. We ensure that appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place for any cross-border data transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. The updated policy will be effective as of the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
